Maggie and Max
Charles and Lizzie are at a cub scout meeting. When they get home they have to get something from a woman. The woman gives them a box. Inside the box is a dog and a cat. The dogs name is Maggie and the cats name is Max. The woman tells them they have to foster the animals. Their parents say that they can foster Maggie and Max. Then they take Maggie and Max to their house to take care of them. After they take care of them for a day, the children and their parents go help out at the homeless shelter with dinner. Max was missing so Maggie and the family went to find Max. They found Max in someones room in a cupard. While they were setting up the Christmas tree, Maggie got stuck in a railing. The family got her unstuck from the to railings. Charles read a poem and said I think you've both found a wonderful home.

Cats by Barbara Taylor

Did you know that there are two differnt kinds of cat groups? The names of these cat groups are big cats and small cats. Big cats are bigger than small cats and that is how they got the name. They can't purr, but they can roar. They love to play chasing games to learn how to hunt. The next group is called small cats. Small cats aren't as big as big cats. They like to purr and are independent. Both kinds of cats walk quietly on there tiptoes, use their sharp teeth to tear their food and sleep all day and hunt all night. My favorite big cat is the lion because their mane and body are the color of my hair. Short hair domestic cats are my favorite small cat because they purr and like to cuddle with people.

Leo the Snow Leopard
This book is about a Snow Leopard named Leo who doesn't have a mom or dad but is helped by some friendly animal helpers from the W.C.S. Leo was rescued by a goat herder and the goat herder took care of him in his own home. Snow Leopards can't live with pepole forever. They need to live with other Snow Leopards. Leo needed a place to live while Pakastan built a new wildlife center for him so they contacted the United States Embassy for help. A wildlife team named the W.C.S flew to Pakastan to bring him to the Bronx Zoo. Then Leo met another snow Leopard named Shelby who taught him how to be a snow leopard. She taught him how to groom himself and how to read her signals. Leo's story shows us how cooperation and teamwork teaches us to help endangered species all over the world!

Lynx by: Stephanie St. Pierre
This book is about lynx's. Lynx have several different kinds of relatives: Siberian lynx, caracal and bobcats. The lynx pictured in this book is climbing a tree because they like to sit up high and look around for prey to attack. Lynx sleep during the day and are awake at night. Lynx cubs like to climb trees and swim. The ears of a Lynx have tufts of fur in them that help them hear quiet noises. Lynx are generally silent creatures, but sometimes they growl and purr.
